The summit features a prominent trig point and a small stone cairn, ideal for a photo opportunity as you stand at the top of the world—or at least the top of Slieve Meelmore.

Rocky and grassy with some boggy patches; sturdy footwear is recommended for the more adventurous among you.

The mountain is primarily composed of granite, which gives it a rugged feel, whilst the surrounding landscape features glacially shaped valleys and moraines that tell the tale of the Ice Age.
