About walking in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland's walking is compact and varied. The Mourne Mountains in County Down rise to Slieve Donard, the highest point in Northern Ireland, and are crossed by the Mourne Wall. On the north coast, the Causeway Coast Way passes the Giant's Causeway, a World Heritage Site, and the cliffs and beaches of the Antrim coast.
Inland, the Sperrins offer quiet moorland, the Glens of Antrim have waterfalls and forest parks, and in Fermanagh the Cuilcagh boardwalk trail climbs across blanket bog in a UNESCO Global Geopark. The Ulster Way links much of this into one long circuit.
