At the Summit
The summit is crowned with a modest cairn which provides the perfect spot for a well-deserved snack break when the legs start complaining. The panoramic views make the uphill slog all worthwhile.

Carnanelly is primarily composed of Old Red Sandstone, which offers an interesting contrast against the lush green grassy slopes. This sandstone can be spotted in crags around the summit, and occasional quartz veins run through the rock, glistening in the sunlight.
