The summit features a large stone cairn that serves as a marker for those who have reached the top, as well as providing a handy spot for an obligatory selfie.
Beinn Ghlas is primarily composed of ancient granite, a resilient rock formed under immense pressure. The rugged topography showcases glacial erosion, with smooth striations that tell tales of the last Ice Age.
From the summit, hikers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges, including the stunning Ben Lawers and the breadth of Loch Tay.

Starting from the visitor centre at the foot of the mountain, this route ascends via the well-maintained path leading to Beinn Ghlas, offering some picturesque views along the way.
There is a car park at the foot of the mountain, just off the A827, with spaces available but can fill up quickly on sunny days.
Regular bus services run from nearby towns, including Aberfeldy and Killin, to the start of The Rob Roy Way.
