This route starts from the car park at Inverlochlarig (grid ref NN438184) and follows a well-trodden path up the southern ridge of Stob Binnein. The ascent is steep but offers stunning views over Balquhidder Glen and Loch Voil. After reaching the summit, return by the same route.

Northern Approach via Ben More

Very Hard

This is the classic route combining Stob Binnein with its neighbouring Munro, Ben More. Starting from Benmore Farm (grid ref NN432244), ascend Ben More first via a steep and unrelenting path. From its summit, descend to the bealach and then climb the south ridge of Stob Binnein. Return to the starting point by retracing your steps down Ben More.

Western Ridge via Coire Chaorach

Hard

This less frequented route begins from a small parking area near Auchessan (grid ref NN475276). Follow a track into Coire Chaorach before ascending the western ridge of Stob Binnein. This route offers a quieter and more scenic ascent, with expansive views of the surrounding hills. Descend by the same route.

Circular Route from Inverlochlarig

Very Hard

Starting from Inverlochlarig, this route forms a circular walk by ascending Stob Binnein via its south ridge and descending via the eastern slopes into Coire an Lochain. It involves some pathless sections and navigation skills are essential. The descent offers beautiful views over the glen.

High-Level Traverse: Ben More to Stob Binnein

Very Hard

For experienced walkers, this high-level traverse begins at Benmore Farm and ascends Ben More. From there, continue over the bealach to Stob Binnein before descending steeply into Coire an Lochain and returning to the farm. This challenging route rewards with panoramic views and a sense of achievement.
