From the summit, one can spot the stunning Howgill Fells to the northeast and, on a clear day, the impressive Yorkshire Dales in the southeast.
The name 'Asby' derives from Old Norse, meaning 'farmstead'. The addition of 'Little' differentiates it from its slightly taller neighbour, Great Asby Scar.
