At the Summit

At the summit, you'll find a well-constructed cairn that is a favourite spot for photos. On a clear day, it can be a fantastic picnic spot (just remember, leave no trace!).

Terrain & Geology

Rocky and grassy with some boggy patches especially after a rain. Good footwear is advised unless you're aiming for a mud bath.

Breabag is primarily composed of quartzite, which gives way to some fascinating sedimentary layers. The rocky outcrops and crags are a joy for geology enthusiasts.

Views & Scenery

You'll be treated to sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, including the iconic Ben Nevis and Loch Ness in the distance on a clear day.

History & Heritage

Name Origin

Breabag is derived from the Gaelic term for 'hill with a rounded top', quite fitting considering its shape.

The mountain is popular with both local and visiting hikers, contributing to the cultural tapestry of the Highlands.
