From here, the path ascends steeply to the ridge, offering stunning views of the surrounding Assynt wilderness before reaching the summit of Ben More Assynt. Return via the same route.

Challenging

This classic circular route combines Ben More Assynt with its neighbouring Munro, Conival. Starting at Inchnadamph, the path ascends steeply to Conival before following the ridge to Ben More Assynt. This ridge walk is spectacular but requires care in poor visibility. Descend by retracing your steps to Conival before returning to Inchnadamph.

This quieter and less-travelled approach to Ben More Assynt begins from Glen Oykel. The route heads towards Dubh Loch Mor before climbing steeply to the summit. This route offers a remote and wild experience, but navigation skills and good fitness are essential. Return via the same path.

Starting near Loch Ailsh, this route offers a more scenic and varied approach to Ben More Assynt. The trail passes through beautiful glens and lochs before climbing steeply to the summit. This adventurous and challenging route combines the ascent of Ben More Assynt with a traverse of its eastern ridge. Starting from Inchnadamph, the route climbs Conival, traverses Ben More Assynt, and continues along the narrow ridge to the eastern summits. The return involves retracing your steps or descending into Gleann Dubh for a circular finish. This route requires excellent navigation and scrambling skills.
