Ben Vrackie is predominantly composed of granite, surrounded by sedimentary rocks, offering hikers a mix of interesting rock formations and stunning views of the glacial landscape.

The name 'Vrackie' is thought to derive from the Gaelic term 'Binn Bhreac', meaning 'spotted peak'.
