At the summit, you will find a large brass memorial dedicated to the 1st Buckinghamshire Battalion, complete with impressive views towards the Vale of Aylesbury and beyond.
Coombe Hill is primarily composed of chalk and flint, characteristic of the underlying geology of the Chilterns. The chalk gives rise to thin soils that are often well-drained and support unique floral and faunal communities.
From the summit, view the expansive Vale of Aylesbury, the stunning Waddesdon Manor to the north, and on a clear day, even the spires of London can be seen.
The name 'Coombe' is derived from the Old English word meaning ‘valley’—a fitting description for its location.

There is a car park at the base of Coombe Hill near the National Trust car park, with spaces for around 50 vehicles.
