At the Summit
At the summit, hikers will find a sizeable stone cairn and an impressive trig point, which are ideal spots for a quick photo op or a well-deserved snack break.
Terrain & Geology
Trahenna Hill is primarily composed of sedimentary rocks, including mudstones and sandstones, typical of the Southern Uplands. These rocks tell a tale of ancient sea beds that have long since dried up, leaving behind a rugged landscape ripe for exploration.

From the summit, one can enjoy panoramic views of Nithsdale and the rolling hills of the Southern Uplands, including the iconic Criffel to the east.
