At the Summit

The summit features a modest cairn and a protruding stone that provides a perfect seat for a well-deserved break. You'd have to sit on your boulder to take in the views, but it’s worth it!

Terrain & Geology

Rugged grassy slopes with some rocky outcrops mixed with interspersed boggy areas - so be prepared to dodge the occasional puddle!

Primarily composed of Skiddaw group slate, Blake Fell features a mix of steep slopes and gentle hills, along with some glacial deposits that hint at its ancient past. You'll find rocks that make great friends for skimming across the lakes, should you have the urge!

Views & Scenery

Distant views of the Scafell massif, the Howgill Fells, and the Solway Firth make for a picturesque panorama. On a clear day, you may spot the Isle of Man just peeking out over the horizon.
