About this walk
A gentle circuit through Market Bosworth’s former deer park, linking Bow Pool, the arboretum and the eastern parkland paths. This plotted route is about 2.7 km, with roughly 75 minutes allowed for a relaxed walk, pond watching and pauses beneath the mature trees. Steady walking takes about 40 minutes. It uses the park’s established network rather than extending onto the surrounding lanes.
Start at the main country park car park off The Park, B585, Market Bosworth, CV13 0LP. Head south into the park, keeping to the path leading to Bow Pool. Follow its southern and western paths, continue through the arboretum and return east along the southern park paths. Follow the eastern boundary past the smaller ponds, then turn back towards the main entrance on the diagonal park path. The short western end of the arboretum is retraced. The circuit stays within the country park; do not continue onto the paths signed for the Battlefield or into neighbouring farmland.
The combination of open grassland, old park trees and quieter wooded corners gives plenty of variety on a short walk. Bow Pool is a good place to pause for water birds, without assuming particular species will appear. The arboretum adds spring blossom and autumn colour, while the mature trees offer interest throughout the year.
Paths include gravel, earth and grass, with gentle gradients and muddy sections after rain. Wear footwear with grip, keep dogs under close control and away from the water, and leave gates as found. No swimming is allowed in the pools. Use daylight and observe any forestry or maintenance notices.
Parking is charged and toilets are by the main entrance, subject to opening. The operator lists October park hours of 7am–6pm, with earlier winter closing, so check the entrance board. Bring refreshments for the circuit; the town centre is a separate short walk. Planned from Market Bosworth Parish Council’s country park leaflet and Leicestershire Country Parks visitor information: https://leicscountryparks.org.uk/parks/market-bosworth-country-park/. The distance here is the plotted circuit, rather than the leaflet’s longer 4 km suggestion.

Joining a walk
A few things to know before you make plans.
Can I join if no one else is going?
You can be the first to join a scheduled walk. A suggested date is an idea for a group walk; choose Set this date up to organise it. Check the participant list and meeting details before setting off.
What if there is no date yet?
Choose Put a date on this walk to organise a group walk. Not ready to choose a day? Follow the route for scheduling updates, or save it for later.
What does the organiser do?
The organiser sets the date and meeting details and helps the group get started. They are a fellow walker and may be new to the route too.
Each walker is responsible for their own safety and navigation. Check the route, weather, equipment and whether the walk suits your experience and fitness.
Can I walk this route on my own?
Yes. Choose Walk this route on your own to open the start screen, then start when you are ready. Finish the walk to add it to your walking history. You do not need a group date.
What happens after I join?
Use the walk page to check meeting details, updates and who is going. Check in from 24 hours before the start to let the group know you still plan to come.
How do I confirm plans with the group?
Check the participant list and check-ins, and message the organiser or other walkers to confirm where to meet and who is coming. This is especially useful when the group is small.
