About this walk
Start at the pedestrian approach beside Hanbury Hall’s main visitor car park, off School Road. Follow the arrival signs through Visitor Reception before entering the estate. This 2.9 km circuit takes in the Stableyard, the western woodland edge and the old parkland avenues. Allow about 90 minutes for a relaxed walk and pauses to look across the park.
From the Stableyard, follow the park track west, then turn north along the woodland boundary. The path bends around the northern fields before bringing you back towards the long tree-lined avenue and the Hall. Return through the visitor area to the car park. This is the parkland portion of the longer orange route shown on the National Trust’s walks map; it leaves out the extra out-and-back to Hanbury Church. Follow the estate’s waymarkers where several field paths meet.
There are gentle gradients, gates and stretches of grass and earth. Expect mud after wet weather and uneven ground around roots and the small ditch crossings. A short distance here does not mean a wholly surfaced path. Wear shoes with grip, stay on the marked routes through the tenant-farmed land and close gates behind you. Dogs must stay on short fixed leads, particularly around grazing livestock.
Admission is charged for non-members when entering Hanbury Hall’s gardens and parkland; eligible National Trust members can use their membership. Check current entry arrangements and opening times before travelling, and leave enough time to return before the site closes. Toilets are available near reception and in the Stableyard. The Stables Café offers a convenient stop, subject to its opening hours. A house or garden visit can be added separately without extending the mapped walking circuit.

Joining a walk
A few things to know before you make plans.
Can I join if no one else is going?
You can be the first to join a scheduled walk. A suggested date is an idea for a group walk; choose Set this date up to organise it. Check the participant list and meeting details before setting off.
What if there is no date yet?
Choose Put a date on this walk to organise a group walk. Not ready to choose a day? Follow the route for scheduling updates, or save it for later.
What does the organiser do?
The organiser sets the date and meeting details and helps the group get started. They are a fellow walker and may be new to the route too.
Each walker is responsible for their own safety and navigation. Check the route, weather, equipment and whether the walk suits your experience and fitness.
Can I walk this route on my own?
Yes. Choose Walk this route on your own to open the start screen, then start when you are ready. Finish the walk to add it to your walking history. You do not need a group date.
What happens after I join?
Use the walk page to check meeting details, updates and who is going. Check in from 24 hours before the start to let the group know you still plan to come.
How do I confirm plans with the group?
Check the participant list and check-ins, and message the organiser or other walkers to confirm where to meet and who is coming. This is especially useful when the group is small.
