At the Summit

At the summit, you’ll find a small stone cairn and a weathered trig point. It offers a perfect spot for a well-deserved picnic or to contemplate life’s bigger questions, such as 'Why did I sign up for this?'

Terrain & Geology

Grassy and rocky with patches of heather and bracken. The summit area can be quite exposed.

The mountain is primarily composed of basalt, resulting from ancient volcanic activity. The volcanic rocks give the terrain a rugged beauty, while the surrounding cliffs are a testament to the power of erosion over the eons.

Views & Scenery

From the summit, you can see the rolling Northumberland hills, the distant Cheviots, and on a clear day, the vast expanse of the North Sea.
