At the summit, you will find a prominent trig point, along with expansive views of the city of Dundee and the Firth of Tay. There’s ample space for a well-deserved picnic, so don’t forget the sandwiches!
Dundee Law is primarily composed of volcanic rock from the Carboniferous period, providing a unique landscape accented by its steep slopes and rocky outcrops. The remnants of ancient, dormant volcanic activity make for an interesting geological excursion.
From the top, enjoy panoramic views sweeping over Dundee, the north towards the Angus Glens, and to the south over the River Tay towards Fife.
The name 'Law' comes from the Old English word for 'hill', while 'Dundee' relates to the nearby city, making it essentially 'Dundee Hill'.
