About this walk
A roughly 4 km circuit through Croome’s landscaped park, linking Church Hill, the Rotunda, Park Seat and the river-like lake. Allow about an hour and a half, longer if you stop to look at the buildings and views. This walk enters the National Trust visitor park: normal admission applies for non-members, and eligible members should show their membership card.
Start at the visitor car-park pedestrian exit beside the RAF visitor-centre area, near High Green, WR8 9DW. Croome is improving its parking and visitor reception during 2026, with parking available in the paddock during the current phase. Follow staff directions and temporary signs from your parking space to the visitor entrance; the short arrival approach may change.
Follow Wilderness Walk to the church, then take the shrubbery path around its front towards the Rotunda, crossing the estate road with care. Beyond the Rotunda, descend the steps into the parkland and follow the ridge towards Park Seat. The open stretch gives views across the surrounding countryside. Turn downhill towards the water, keeping it on your left as you follow the bank back towards Croome Court. Continue beside the water, then climb back to the church and return through the visitor entrance to the car park.
The walk combines gravel and surfaced paths with grassy, uneven ground. There are steps and a steeper slope, and the riverside section can become muddy after rain. Wear footwear with grip, stay back from the water and follow any local diversions. Dogs are welcome on leads in the parkland. Café and toilets are available in the visitor-centre area during opening hours.
Check admission, seasonal opening times and the latest works notices before travelling. Leave enough time to return before the park closes; the car park is locked after closing. Visits inside the house or RAF museum need extra time.

Joining a walk
A few things to know before you make plans.
Can I join if no one else is going?
You can be the first to join a scheduled walk. A suggested date is an idea for a group walk; choose Set this date up to organise it. Check the participant list and meeting details before setting off.
What if there is no date yet?
Choose Put a date on this walk to organise a group walk. Not ready to choose a day? Follow the route for scheduling updates, or save it for later.
What does the organiser do?
The organiser sets the date and meeting details and helps the group get started. They are a fellow walker and may be new to the route too.
Each walker is responsible for their own safety and navigation. Check the route, weather, equipment and whether the walk suits your experience and fitness.
Can I walk this route on my own?
Yes. Choose Walk this route on your own to open the start screen, then start when you are ready. Finish the walk to add it to your walking history. You do not need a group date.
What happens after I join?
Use the walk page to check meeting details, updates and who is going. Check in from 24 hours before the start to let the group know you still plan to come.
How do I confirm plans with the group?
Check the participant list and check-ins, and message the organiser or other walkers to confirm where to meet and who is coming. This is especially useful when the group is small.
