About Me
I have recently rediscovered my love of walking, I grew up with family and a holiday home in the Lake District and have always loved making plans to go back there. In later life I've discovered the beauty of the Cairngorms having holidayed there a few times, and also, a love for Snowdonia and Wales in general. I genuinely enjoy getting outside and walking, seeing the natural beauty that's out there to be seen. Doing so with company just makes it better, shared experiences, tales etc. (I'm told I'm an extrovert and can talk to anyone... I don't deny this) I am hoping to do a residential winter skills course early in 2027, with the plans to spend 2026 improving my hill walking fitness and brushing up on the skills I do have. I did my NNAS silver a few years ago, so pretty happy with a map and a compass, although I'll admit to cheating with technology from time to time.
Looking For
Walkmates... title says it all doesn't it? To meet fellow people who enjoy the outdoors and walking to share that joy with and give me the motivation to get out and do it. It's all to easy to let yourself down, less so when there are other people involved. As for specific activities, I'm pretty open minded and willing to plan with anyone, day trips, weekends etc.
