At the Summit

The summit features a well-built stone cairn, that acts as a fine windbreak and a perfect spot for your much-deserved snack – or perhaps a cheeky sandwich. The views are also quite a feature!

Ruadh-stac Beag is primarily composed of granite with scattered patches of gneiss. The underlying rock contributes to the rugged beauty of the landscape, with striking crags giving way to sweeping heather-covered slopes. A geologist's paradise – if only they could find a way to polish it!

Parking

There is a small parking area off the A896 just before the bridge leading to Torridon, suitable for around 5-6 cars. Arrive early to snag your spot or the only views you'll see might be those of your own vehicle bumper.

Public Transport

Buses from Inverness or Ullapool head towards Torridon, but they are limited. You may want to brush up on your lifts or prepare to channel your inner Barry Allen (The Flash) and run!

Nearby Facilities

The nearby village of Torridon has a small shop and café which serves as a great post-hike recovery spot for caffeine and cake. Toilets can be found at the Torridon Hotel as well.
