At the Summit

The summit boasts a large stone cairn with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and Loch Maree. On a clear day, it’s a sight that could make a grown man weep – or maybe just clap his hands in glee.

Terrain & Geology

Steep and rocky with sections of alpine grass; expect some boulder fields and perhaps a bog or two to keep things interesting.

Beinn Eighe is known for its dramatic Torridonian sandstone, a relic of ancient riverbeds and deltas dating back to the Precambrian era. The rugged cliffs and steep slopes are testament to millennia of geological processes, with striking layers and features visible for the geologically inclined.

Views & Scenery

From the summit, you can see the majestic Torridon hills, the deep blue waters of Loch Maree, and the distant peaks of the Fisherfield Forest, each more striking than the last.
