The summit features a modest cairn with a trig point offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Penhale Hill is primarily composed of sandy soils with underlying evidence of the marine sediments typical of the Cornish landscape. The area is also home to distinctive coastal grasslands and heathland, which provide a unique biodiversity.
