At the Summit

The summit is adorned with a large stone cairn, which might just be the friendliest welcome committee you’ll find at such an altitude. Also, brace for strong winds that might challenge your hat's loyalty.

Terrain & Geology

Rocky and grassy with some boggy patches that may try to claim your boots as trophies.

Sgurr Fhuaran is primarily composed of granite gneiss, which contributes to its rugged and ancient character. The mountain's striking cliffs were shaped by glacial activity during the last Ice Age, leaving a landscape that is as awe-inspiring as it is daunting.

Views & Scenery

From the summit, you can gaze upon the stunning peaks of the Five Sisters of Kintail, Loch Duich, and the vast expanses of the Highlands. On a clear day, even the Isle of Skye can make an appearance, waving from the distance.
