The descent follows the Coire a' Mhusgain back to Glen Nevis.

This direct route to Sgurr a' Mhaim starts from the car park at Achriabhach in Glen Nevis. It follows a clear path up into Coire a' Mhusgain before ascending steep scree slopes to reach the summit. This is a straightforward way to climb the hill for those looking to avoid the more technical sections of the Ring of Steall.

This route focuses on tackling the thrilling Devil's Ridge. Starting from the same Glen Nevis car park, the route ascends steeply to the ridge, which connects Sgurr a' Mhaim with Stob Ban. The ridge itself is narrow and exposed, providing an exhilarating challenge before reaching the summit of Sgurr a' Mhaim. The return route descends via Coire a' Mhusgain.

Very Hard

This less common approach begins in Kinlochleven and traverses the Mamores ridge to reach Sgurr a' Mhaim. The route involves significant ascent and descent, passing over other peaks such as Am Bodach and Stob Coire a' Chairn before reaching Sgurr a' Mhaim. While long and demanding, this route rewards walkers with incredible views and a sense of remoteness.

This route combines Sgurr a' Mhaim with the neighbouring Munro of Stob Ban. Starting from Glen Nevis, the route ascends Sgurr a' Mhaim via Coire a' Mhusgain. After enjoying the summit views, it continues along the ridge to Stob Ban before descending via the stalker's path back to Glen Nevis. A great choice for bagging two Munros in one day.
