The summit features a large trig point that offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and the English Channel on a clear day.
Langdon Hill is composed primarily of chalk, characteristic of the South Downs, resulting in excellent drainage and unique flora. The slopes are dotted with various chalk grassland species, making it a heather and wildflower hotspot.
From the summit, you can see the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs to the east and, on a good day, the skyline of Brighton to the west.
Langdon is derived from Old English, meaning 'long hill' or 'broad down', aptly describing its shape.
The area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with nearby archaeological sites indicating significant historical importance.
