The summit features a large, impressive stone cairn that provides a perfect resting spot for those needing a breather. You'll also find panoramic views that could make a poet weep.
Craignaw is primarily composed of granite and schist, indicative of the region's complex geological history. The ancient rocks here tell a grand tale of tectonic movements and glacial sculpting.

The nearest parking can be found at the end of the minor road leading from New Galloway, where there's a small pull-in beside the Gairland Burn.
