From the lighthouse, follow the faint path through the grassy slopes and basalt terrain, gradually ascending towards the summit. Along the way, enjoy views of the seabird colonies and the rugged coastline. The summit, marked by a trig point, offers stunning views of the Firth of Clyde and surrounding islands.

Ailsa Craig is famous for its seabird colonies, and this route caters to birdwatchers. Starting at the lighthouse, follow the coastal path counterclockwise, pausing at key birdwatching spots. After completing a section of the coastal loop, turn inland to ascend the summit path. After visiting the summit, return to the lighthouse via the direct descent route.
