This classic circuit starts from the car park near the foot of the Three Sisters. It ascends through the Lost Valley, a hidden and atmospheric glen. From the valley, the route climbs steeply to reach the summit of Bidean nam Bian. The descent is via the ridge to Stob Coire Sgreamhach, before returning to the Lost Valley and the car park.

Bidean nam Bian via the Beinn Fhada Ridge

Hard

This lesser-trodden route starts at the same car park as the other routes but diverges to ascend Beinn Fhada first. The ridge offers a quiet and exposed approach to Bidean nam Bian and provides excellent views across the Glencoe region. After reaching the summit, the descent can follow the Coire nan Lochan path.

Hard

This linear route focuses on the two Munro summits, Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire Sgreamhach. Starting from the car park at NN143542, the route ascends through the Lost Valley to reach Stob Coire Sgreamhach first, followed by the ascent to Bidean nam Bian. The return follows the same route.

Very Hard

This challenging winter route is a favourite for experienced mountaineers. Starting at NN143542, it heads through Coire nan Lochan before ascending steep snow slopes to reach the summit of Bidean nam Bian. This route requires winter skills, including the use of crampons and an ice axe, and should only be attempted in suitable conditions.
