At the Summit

The summit features a small stone cairn, providing a perfect place to rest and take in the panoramic views. On a clear day, it feels like you can see forever – just make sure to keep an eye on the clouds, as they can sneak up on you!

Terrain & Geology

Grassy with rocky outcrops some boggy patches along the lower paths.

Middle Fell is primarily composed of rocks from the Skiddaw group, which includes mudstones and siltstones formed in deep marine environments over 500 million years ago. The weathering of these rocks contributes to the soft, rolling morphology of the fell.

Views & Scenery

From the summit, you can enjoy unforgettable views of Wastwater, the deepest lake in England, as well as the majestic peaks of Scafell and Lingmell. Don't forget your camera!
