At the Summit

The summit features a small cairn and a stone shelter that provides a perfect spot for a quick break and a bite to eat, whilst you contemplate the beauty of the surroundings.

Terrain & Geology

Rocky and grassy with some boggy patches.

Force Crag is primarily composed of Skiddaw slate, which is a sedimentary rock formed during the Ordovician period. The striking topography will have you scratching your head, trying to figure out how nature made it so marvellous.

From the summit, hikers can enjoy views of Derwentwater, the surrounding fells, and on clear days, a glimpse of the mighty Scafell Pike.
