Follow the excellent path through the nature reserve, ascending steadily along the western slopes of Cul Mor. After crossing some boggy ground, the path leads to the south ridge, offering stunning views of Suilven and Stac Pollaidh. From here, it's a straightforward climb to the summit, where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views over Assynt's rugged landscape. Return via the same route.

This route starts at a small layby near Lochan Fada (NH265093) and is ideal for those looking for a quieter ascent. Begin by heading northeast across heather moorland, navigating faint paths and boggy terrain. The route ascends the northern slopes of Cul Mor, passing a series of rocky outcrops. The final push to the summit involves some light scrambling, with incredible views over the Inverpolly Nature Reserve. Return using the same path, taking care with navigation in poor visibility.

Cul Mor Circular via Meallan Diomhain

Hard

This longer circular route offers a more adventurous day out. Start from the same Knockan Crag car park and follow the Knockan Crag route until reaching Cul Mor’s summit. Descend southeast toward the lower peak of Meallan Diomhain, navigating rugged paths and occasional steep sections. From Meallan Diomhain, descend further east to the moorland below, picking up a faint path that loops back to the car park. This route offers varied terrain and fantastic views throughout.

Challenging

This less-traveled route begins at the car park near Strath More (NH230092). From here, head east along a faint track, crossing open moorland toward Cul Mor's western flanks. The ascent follows a grassy ridge interspersed with rocky outcrops, leading to the summit. This route is ideal for experienced walkers seeking solitude. Navigation skills are essential, especially in poor weather. Return via the same route.

Cul Mor and Lochan Dearg Circuit

This scenic route combines a climb of Cul Mor with a visit to the beautiful Lochan Dearg. Start at the Knockan Crag car park and ascend Cul Mor via its southern ridge. After enjoying the summit views, descend to the northeast, looping around the tranquil Lochan Dearg. The route then rejoins the main path back to the car park. This is a fantastic option for those looking to explore more of the surrounding landscape.
