The summit features a large grassy knoll with a modest natural mound, making for a lovely picnic spot. A stone marker is occasionally found, perfect for a photo op.
The hill is primarily composed of chalk, a soft white rock which originated from the remains of tiny marine organisms and is characteristic of the South Downs. The surrounding area features numerous fossil beds, some dating back millions of years.
