The name 'Marsco' is believed to derive from the Norse word 'm öldr,' meaning 'sword,' which could evoke imagery of the sharp peaks that dominate the landscape.

Historical Significance

Marsco is significant not just for its height as a Munro, but also for its position in the cultural landscape of Skye, often featuring in local folklore and legends.
