At the Summit

The summit is marked by a prominent cairn, which has seen many a walker seeking a photo opportunity. There’s also a lovely flat area perfect for a celebratory snack.

Terrain & Geology

The terrain mainly consists of rocky outcrops interspersed with grassy patches. Be prepared for some boggy sections especially after rain.

Beinn Iaruinn is primarily composed of metamorphic rocks, largely schists and gneisses, typical of the geological complexity found in the Highlands. The presence of ancient volcanic activity is hinted at in the surrounding formations.
